The System Sensor DCOIL is an accessory coil for the Innovairflex duct smoke detector line. Specifically, it is required on the DNR series when a remote test station is added.
What the System Sensor DCOIL Does
First, the DCOIL is wired into the duct detector’s test circuit. Then, it provides the inductive path that a remote test station uses to command a test from a location away from the detector itself. As a result, technicians can run NFPA 72 test sequences without climbing to the duct-mounted housing.
However, the DCOIL is not optional in that configuration — it is required when a remote test station is used on a DNR. Therefore, order one DCOIL per DNR that has a remote test station installed.
Platform Compatibility
The DCOIL is built specifically for the Innovairflex DNR series duct detector. In addition, it is not a generic test-circuit accessory and should not be substituted onto other duct detector platforms.
Typical Use
Common applications include large HVAC systems where the duct detector is installed above ceilings or in mechanical rooms. Also, any DNR install where the AHJ or building design calls for an accessible remote test station will need the DCOIL paired with it.
