DSC (WS4965) Tri-Zone Dr/Window Contact

The DSC (WS4965) is a wireless tri-zone door/window contact transmitter for DSC 433 MHz residential security receivers. It is an intrusion device, not a fire alarm initiating device.

Therefore, the WS4965 pairs with DSC residential security panels equipped with a 433 MHz wireless receiver — not with fire alarm control units.

First, an internal reed switch reports door/window state for the first zone. In addition, two normally-closed hardwired external contact inputs cover the second and third zones. As a result, one transmitter can monitor up to three separate openings or dry-contact devices. Furthermore, each zone reports its own supervisory signal to the receiver.

Important Application Note

The WS4965 is an intrusion door/window contact transmitter. Therefore, do not connect it to a fire alarm SLC, IDC, or NAC. For fire-system monitoring, use a UL 268-listed initiating device instead. Note: this product line has been discontinued by DSC; confirm availability before specifying for new construction.
