The Eaton ELCHRC is a Wheelock Eluxa solid-state chime. It is a ceiling-mount appliance with a red housing and 24 VDC operation. The “C” suffix denotes ceiling mount.
First, the chime produces a clean, tonal alert intended for quieter occupancies. Then, the installer selects one of four modes during commissioning: 1 Hz, 2 Hz, Coded, or Temporal 3 (T3). As a result, the same part number can serve different building uses without re-ordering.
Eaton ELCHRC Applications
Chime appliances fit places where a horn would be too disruptive. For example, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and corporate offices often spec chimes in patient rooms and quiet zones. Therefore, the ELCHRC works as a softer-toned alternative to a fire horn in those environments. However, code may still require a strobe for visual notification — the ELCHRC has audible output only.

Mounting and Compliance
The ELCHRC mounts to standard ceiling backboxes. Also, the appliance supports LSPKBB-C ceiling backboxes or a 4-inch square box with 2-1/8 inch depth. In addition, the family is UL/ULC listed and RoHS compliant.
Ordering Notes
For combined audible-plus-strobe coverage, choose the ELCHSRC chime-strobe ceiling variant instead. Also, the wall-mount equivalent of this SKU is the ELCHR. Furthermore, confirm whether your project requires a strobe element before specifying this audible-only model.
