The Genesis 50781108 is a 24 AWG, 4-pair solid Category 5e riser-rated network cable from Southwire’s Genesis® line. It is U/UTP (unshielded twisted pair) for Ethernet and structured cabling. As a result, it supports voice and data networks in commercial buildings. The cable ships in black, 1000 feet per pull-out box.

Installation Applications
First, the CMR rating allows vertical riser runs between floors. Then, the cable installs in metal raceways per NEC 300.22(B). However, this cable is NOT plenum-rated. Therefore, do not install it in air handling spaces; choose a plenum Cat 5e equivalent instead. In addition, it is a communications cable, not a fire alarm cable. As a result, dedicated fire alarm circuits require an FPLR-rated cable instead.
