The Wheelock HNRC horn is a 2-wire ceiling-mount fire alarm horn with a red housing. First, it provides audible-only notification — there is no strobe element. Specifically, it sits in the Eaton Wheelock Exceder family of conventional notification appliances. Therefore, it operates on standard 12 VDC or 24 VDC polarized NAC signal circuits.
What this Wheelock HNRC horn is
This is a ceiling-mount horn only. As a result, it suits projects that already use separate strobes or where strobe coverage is not required. In addition, the 2-wire design simplifies installation by carrying signal power and supervision on one pair. Then field-selectable tone and dB tap settings let one SKU cover several install scenarios.

What this horn is NOT
However, the HNRC is not addressable. Also, it is not a horn-strobe — the matching ceiling horn-strobe in the Exceder family is a different SKU. Furthermore, this is the legacy red ceiling 2-wire horn; the active replacement in the Eluxa LED family is the ELHNRC. Therefore, if you are specifying for a new install, consider the ELHNRC instead.
Compatibility
The HNRC operates from any conventional fire alarm control panel NAC that supports 12 or 24 VDC polarized 2-wire horn loads. In addition, it mounts to a standard Exceder ceiling backbox.
