The Honeywell PRN-7 is an 80-column serial matrix event printer for fire alarm control panels. It produces a hard-copy log of system events, alarms, troubles, and status changes.
First, the PRN-7 connects to the FACP’s printer port over RS-232. Then it prints at 333 characters per second using a 24-pin dot-matrix head. As a result, supervising stations can keep a permanent paper record that meets NFPA recordkeeping requirements.

The PRN-7 works with Honeywell, Fire-Lite, Notifier, Gamewell-FCI, and Silent Knight fire alarm control panels that include a serial printer port. In addition, it can be used with any FACP whose printer output uses standard RS-232 with 80-column formatting.
