The DSC HSM3408 adds eight fully programmable hardwired zones to any PowerSeries Pro intrusion panel. It is the Pro-series zone expander — separate from the Neo-series HSM2108.

First, the module supports broad loop-resistance flexibility. Specifically, it accepts no end-of-line, single end-of-line (0.5 kΩ to 28 kΩ), double end-of-line (0.5 kΩ to 15 kΩ), or triple end-of-line (0.5 kΩ to 7.5 kΩ) zone wiring.

The HSM3408 connects to the panel over the Corbus. In addition, it is part of the EN 50131 Grade 3 PowerSeries Pro ecosystem. As a result, it suits high-risk commercial intrusion installations such as banks, jewelers, and high-value retail.

Compatible Panels

The HSM3408 works with the PowerSeries Pro family — HS3032, HS3128, and HS3248. Also, EN 50131 Grade 3 listed installations require Pro-grade keypads and modules end-to-end.

Important Application Note

The HSM3408 is an EN 50131 Grade 3 intrusion expander. Therefore, do not install it on a fire alarm SLC or IDC loop. For fire alarm zone expansion, use the panel manufacturer’s listed fire expander instead.
