The Kidde FX-NAC is an addressable notification appliance circuit (NAC) module. Specifically, it extends the Kidde FX-64 or FX-1000 intelligent panel with an SLC-controlled NAC. As a result, you can drive Genesis or Enhanced Integrity notification appliances from the SLC loop.
In addition, the module includes alarm, trouble, and supervisory relay contacts on terminal block TB3 per K85005-0137. Therefore, the FX-NAC reports its status back to the panel and provides dry-contact outputs.
Kidde FX-NAC function
First, the FX-NAC mounts on the SLC and takes an address. Then, the panel switches the NAC on alarm. As a result, connected Genesis horns, strobes, and horn/strobes activate per panel programming.
Relay outputs (TB3)
The trouble relay is normally open and held closed, then opens on any trouble event. Also, the alarm relay activates on alarm. In addition, the supervisory relay activates on supervisory events.
Furthermore, the FX-NAC works only with FX Series intelligent panels. Therefore, do not specify it for conventional FX-10 / FX-5 systems.
