The Edwards SIGA-MCC2A is a plug-in version of the SIGA-CC2A dual signal/riser module for Signature Series systems. Specifically, it plugs into a UIO motherboard rather than mounting on a back box.
In addition, the MCC2A delivers the same functionality as the CC2A. As a result, designers can choose between back-box mounting (CC2A) or plug-in UIO mounting (MCC2A) without losing capability.
Edwards SIGA-MCC2A operation
First, the module switches polarized 24 Vdc, 25 VRMS audio, or 70 VRMS audio onto Class A or Class B riser outputs. Then, the personality code downloaded from the Signature loop controller defines circuit type. As a result, one MCC2A handles NACs, speakers, or firefighter phones interchangeably.
Furthermore, the MCC2A supports UL 1971 strobe synchronization. Also, the module supports three- and four-state telephone modes.
UIO motherboard mounting
The SIGA-MCC2A plugs into UIO motherboards used in Edwards intelligent enclosures. Therefore, this form factor suits high-density module installations in central equipment racks.
