The siemens lim-1 line isolator protects intelligent device loops from short circuits. First, it isolates a shorted section of the loop automatically. As a result, the rest of the loop keeps communicating with the panel. Then, when the short clears, the LIM-1 restores normal operation on its own.
How the Siemens LIM-1 Line Isolator Operates
A yellow LED flashes when the module detects a short circuit. Therefore, technicians can quickly find the affected segment. In addition, the LIM-1 carries no loop address, so it needs no programming. Also, it does not reduce loop capacity below 60 devices on MXL or 252 on FireFinder XLS.
