The Potter Electric Signal LOC-1000 is a Local Operator Console for Potter IPA-4000V voice evacuation systems. First, it lets operators control the fire and ECS system from remote areas of the building. As a result, building staff can manage paging, zone selection, and live voice from a satellite location. Furthermore, the LOC-1000 connects to the IPA-4000V via P-Link RS-485.
Potter Electric Signal LOC-1000 capabilities
The LOC-1000 supports several core operations. Specifically, operators can perform all-call paging, individual zone paging, and ECS message activation. In addition, the console accepts an auxiliary low-level audio source. Therefore, integrators can route background music or external announcements through the unit.
The auxiliary input accepts a 600-ohm, 1 VRMS, line-level audio signal. Furthermore, the input is supervised for fault detection.
Priority and scaling
An IPA-4000V can host up to thirty LOC-1000 consoles on the same P-Link bus. However, only one console controls the system at a time. Specifically, Potter Fire Programmer assigns each LOC-1000 a priority level. Therefore, the highest-priority active console takes control of paging and ECS.
The LOC-1000 ships with a built-in microphone for live voice. In addition, the chassis includes mounting space for an LOC-PSN1000 10 A power supply with a P-Link repeater. Specifically, the cabinet also accommodates an SCA-5070INT integrated amplifier. As a result, integrators can build a self-contained 50 W local operator console. Furthermore, the SCA-5070INT delivers four Class A or Class B speaker outputs.
