The Mircom MIX-2351TAP is a multi-criteria photoelectric smoke detector with built-in thermal sensing. First, it uses a photoelectric chamber for smoke. Then, dual electronic thermistors monitor heat at a 135°F (57°C) fixed point.
In addition, the TAP variant adds the thermal sensor to the standard MIX-2351 photoelectric platform. As a result, you get two detection technologies in one head.
Mircom MIX-2351TAP Protocol
The detector uses Mircom’s Advanced Protocol. Specifically, this is a high-speed addressable protocol. Therefore, communication between detector and panel is faster than legacy CLIP-style protocols.
However, the MIX-2351TAP is Mircom-protocol specific. Therefore, it is not interchangeable with Notifier, Simplex, EST, or other-brand addressable loops.
