The Potter Electric Signal MPEX is an explosion-proof manual fire alarm pull station. Specifically, it protects hazardous locations where standard stations cannot operate safely. Moreover, it carries the proven Federal Signal MPEX Series design. As a result, it suits refineries, chemical plants, and similar industrial sites.
Potter Electric Signal MPEX construction
First, the enclosure uses copper-free cast aluminum alloy. In addition, a red textured powder epoxy finish coats both the box and the cover. Therefore, the station stays highly visible in demanding settings. Also, two 3/4-inch NPT feed-through conduit openings simplify wiring. The unit is rated 120VAC, 60Hz, 6 amps.
Operation and listings
A swing-up front cover exposes a pull-down ring that activates the alarm. As a result, this two-step action helps prevent accidental tripping. Then reset the station by depressing the shaft and returning the plate. Furthermore, the MPEX is UL Listed for Class I, Division 1, Groups C and D. It is also listed for Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, and G, plus Class III. In addition, it is rated NEMA 7 for Groups C and D and NEMA 9 for Groups E, F, and G. Finally, it carries UL, ULC, and CSFM listings.
