The Potter Electric Signal PAD300-PD is a UL 268 7th Edition photoelectric smoke detector. First, it senses smoke across a wide sensitivity range. Then, drift compensation keeps the calibration stable over time. As a result, the unit provides reliable open-area smoke detection with minimal nuisance alarms.

The photoelectric chamber uses a sensitivity range of 1.1 to 3.5%/ft. In addition, the detector communicates sensitivity status to the host control panel. Specifically, the host can program a maintenance alert before the detector troubles. Therefore, integrators can clean or replace the unit before nuisance troubles fire.
The PAD300-PD includes an insect screen on the sensing chamber. Furthermore, the chamber is field-cleanable to restore operation. As a result, basic maintenance does not require detector replacement.
System integration
The PAD300-PD uses Potter’s PAD protocol. Furthermore, it consumes one SLC address per detector. Specifically, the address sets with DIP switches in the rear of the sensor. Therefore, no programming tool is required.
The total polling speed is less than five seconds. In addition, the LED flashes on each poll. Also, the polling LED can be disabled in the field for less conspicuous operation.

Compatible bases
The PAD300-PD twists onto any PAD300 series base. Specifically, PAD300-4DB (3992781) and PAD300-6DB (3992782) are standard bases. In addition, PAD300-IB (3992783) adds an isolator. Also, PAD300-RB (3992784) adds a Form C relay rated 2 A @ 30 VDC. Furthermore, PAD300-SB (3992785) adds a sounder. Finally, PAD300-LFSB (3992786) adds a 520 Hz low-frequency sounder for sleeping areas. Therefore, integrators pick the base by isolation, relay, or sounder need.
