The Notifier (FST-951) is a low-profile intelligent thermal detector for FlashScan-enabled fire alarm panels. First, it provides 135°F (57°C) fixed-temperature detection. In addition, it includes rate-of-rise sensing for faster response to rapid heat buildup.

Furthermore, the FST-951 is a direct replacement for the older FST-851 series. As a result, technicians can upgrade aging Notifier panels without rewiring or major reprogramming. The sleeker housing also blends into modern building interiors.

Addressing and Communication

Each FST-951 carries its own point ID address. Specifically, the address is set using rotary decimal switches on the head. Then the panel uses that address to display the exact device location during an alarm.

This detector communicates on Notifier’s FlashScan protocol only. Therefore, it requires a FlashScan-capable Notifier panel — not a CLIP-only legacy panel.
