The Potter Electric Signal ODC-59A is a rugged overhead door contact. Specifically, it monitors whether an overhead or roll-up door is open or closed. Moreover, it belongs to the proven ODC-59 Series. As a result, it suits high-traffic loading docks, warehouses, and industrial doors.
Potter Electric Signal ODC-59A construction
First, a hermetically sealed reed switch sits inside a solid aluminum housing. In addition, a PVC shock absorber cushions the switch against impact. Therefore, the contact withstands heavy, repeated door cycles. Also, the wiring runs through a 24-inch stainless steel armored cable with 22 AWG leads. The magnet mounts on an adjustable L-shaped bracket for flexible alignment.
Electrical specifications
The switch is a Form N.O. (normally open) reed type. Specifically, it handles a maximum switching current of 0.5 amp. In addition, the maximum carry current is 2 amps. The standard operating gap is 2 inches. However, a 7-inch horizontal-gap (HG) model is also available. Finally, the ODC-59A is UL and ULC Listed.
