Potter Electric Signal (P2S-000) Lv. 2 high security contact

The Potter Electric Signal P2S-000 is a Level 2 high-security door contact. Specifically, it is listed to UL 634 Level 2 — the standard for sensors used in SCIFs, government facilities, financial institutions, nuclear sites, data centers, and military applications. The P2S-000 is the single-contact, no-resistor variant in the P2 Series HSS family.

First, the switch mounts in or near the door frame opposite a matching magnet. Then any opening, sliding, or magnetic-defeat attempt drops the alarm contact. As a result, the access-control or intrusion panel reports an immediate breach. Furthermore, a closed-loop tamper circuit signals any attempt to remove or compromise the device itself.

UL 634 Level 2 requires resistance to a wide range of defeat methods. The P2S-000 resists external and internal magnetic defeat. In addition, the switch resists permanent contact welding from lightning, power surges, and stun-gun discharges. Also, the unit’s installation gap is limited to a maximum of 1/8″ so the sensor can meet UL 634 Level 2 compliance. Therefore, accuracy during installation is critical.
