The Potter Electric Signal PAD100-CD is an analog addressable carbon monoxide detector for life safety applications. First, it uses an electrochemical CO sensor for accurate gas detection. As a result, building occupants get reliable CO alerts integrated into the fire alarm system. Furthermore, the PAD100-CD is listed to UL 2075 for CO detection in commercial life safety installations.
Potter Electric Signal PAD100-CD detection levels
The PAD100-CD reports alarms at three UL-required CO levels. Specifically, it alarms after 70 ppm sustained for two hours. In addition, it alarms at 150 ppm sustained for 30 minutes. Also, it alarms at 400 ppm sustained for 10 minutes. Therefore, the sensor matches the rising-threshold response curve mandated by UL 2075.
The PAD100-CD also carries UUKL listing for smoke control system applications. As a result, integrators can use it in smoke-control-capable facilities.
System integration
The PAD100-CD uses the Potter Addressable Device (PAD) protocol. Furthermore, it consumes one SLC address per detector. Specifically, each device addresses with DIP switches in the rear of the sensor. Therefore, technicians configure the address without specialized tools or programming software.
The total polling speed is less than five seconds, well under the UL 2075 requirement. In addition, the LED flashes each time the unit is polled. Also, the polling LED can be turned off in the field for less conspicuous operation.

Compatible bases
The PAD100-CD twists onto any PAD-series sensor base. Specifically, compatible bases include the PAD100-4DB (4″ standard), PAD100-6DB (6″ standard), PAD100-IB (6″ with isolator), and PAD100-RB (6″ with Form-C relay, 2 A @ 30 VDC). In addition, the PAD100-SB adds a sounder module and the PAD100-SPKB adds a speaker. Therefore, integrators choose the base that matches their notification, isolation, or relay needs.
