The Protectowire ZB-HD-4-QC is a heavy duty zone box for linear heat detectors. Specifically, it is a fiberglass NEMA-4X (IP66) junction box with PWSC compression terminals. Moreover, it is built for highly corrosive atmospheres. As a result, it protects detector terminations in demanding environments.
Protectowire ZB-HD-4-QC specifications
First, the box measures 6 inches high by 6 inches wide by 4 inches deep. In addition, it is molded from reinforced polyester with excellent chemical resistance. It operates from -40°F to +266°F (-40°C to +130°C). Also, it weighs about 2.0 pounds. The cover uses #10-32 brass inserts with stainless steel captive screws.
Compatibility and installation
The ZB-HD-4-QC is compatible with all Protectowire controls. Then connect copper feed conductors in the #18 to #14 AWG range. However, keep all detector bends at a radius of at least 2.5 inches. Therefore, order SR-502 strain relief connectors separately, since boxes ship without them. Finally, install the box no more than six feet above the floor.
