The Power Sonic PS-12180 M5 is a 12-volt, 18 Ah sealed lead-acid battery. It provides standby power for fire alarm and security systems. Specifically, it uses M5 nut-and-bolt terminals for a secure connection.

First, the battery uses absorbed glass mat (AGM) technology. As a result, it is valve-regulated, maintenance-free, and spill-proof. In addition, a rugged ABS case resists vibration and impact.
The 18 Ah capacity is rated at the 20-hour discharge rate. Also, the internal resistance measures about 14 milliohms when fully charged. Therefore, the battery delivers steady voltage during a power transition.
Dimensions and use
This battery measures 7.13″ long, 3.00″ wide, and 6.59″ high. Furthermore, the expected service life runs three to five years. Typically, installers use it as backup power in fire panels, alarm systems, and UPS equipment.
