The Siemens ZIC-8B is a Zone Indicating Card for Siemens FireFinder XLS and Modular fire panels. Specifically, it supplies eight fully supervised, programmable output circuits. As a result, one card adds substantial notification capacity to the panel.
Siemens ZIC-8B output circuits
The ZIC-8B provides eight Class B (Style Y) output circuits. Furthermore, each circuit is power-limited to 2.0 amps maximum. Installers can program every circuit independently. In addition, each circuit drives listed audible or visual notification appliances, or listed emergency-audio speakers.
The circuits support coded or non-coded signaling. Therefore, the card fits both basic zoning and synchronized notification designs.
Installation and status indication
The ZIC-8B plugs into one slot in a Model CC-5 or CC-2 card cage. Also, an optional ZIC-2C two-channel adapter card expands its flexibility. On-board LEDs report power, communication, internal operation, and ground-fault conditions. They also indicate circuit activation and trouble conditions.
Listing
The FireFinder XLS parent panel holds the UL 864 fire alarm control unit listing. Therefore, the listing applies at the panel level rather than to the card alone.
