The SigCom SG-42CX is a die-cast metal manual fire alarm pull station. Specifically, it belongs to SigCom’s SG-42 family of rugged, lightweight metal-alloy stations. The “CX” suffix designates the DPDT (double pole, double throw) switch variant.
Because the housing is die-cast metal rather than plastic, the SG-42CX stands up to abuse. As a result, it is well suited for industrial, institutional, and high-traffic environments.
How the SigCom SG-42CX Operates
The station is operated by pulling the “PULL” handle downward to its stop position. Then, the handle locks in place. As a result, the alarm condition stays visible from up to 50 feet away.
To reset, a technician opens the cover with the supplied CAT30 (“B”) key. Next, they return the handle to its upright position and relock the station. In addition, dual-action models include a “PUSH” bar that must be pressed first. Therefore, you choose single-action or dual-action operation based on local code and customer preference.
