The Simplex 4007-9817 is a network interface card for the 4007ES fire alarm control panel. It connects the panel to a Simplex fire alarm network. As a result, separate panels share status across a site.

The card supports peer-to-peer fire alarm network communication. Specifically, it operates in Class B or Class X configurations. Class X adds a return path for fault tolerance. Therefore, a single wiring fault does not drop the network.
