The Simplex 4010-9922 is the 4010ES network interface card, or NIC. First, it links the host 4010ES panel onto a Simplex 4120 network. In addition, the card uses a PDI connector to communicate with the panel CPU. Therefore, the 4010-9922 enables multi-panel operation, common annunciation, and shared diagnostics.
4010ES Network Interface Card Architecture
The NIC accepts up to two media cards in a single option position. Specifically, the left and right ports each take a media card. As a result, the panel can mix wired and fiber-optic media on one NIC. Furthermore, supported topologies include Style 4 and Style 7 wiring configurations.
Media Card Pairing
Media cards ship separately and match the project media type. Then, the installer selects wired or fiber-optic boards as the site demands. In addition, the same NIC supports mixed media on its two ports. Therefore, single-loop installations and redundant configurations both work.
Cabinet Footprint and Handling
The 4010-9922 requires two vertical block positions inside the cabinet. However, the card draws only 30 mA from the panel supply. Also, the card is static-sensitive: handle by the edges and wear an anti-static wrist strap.
