The Simplex 565-771 is the replacement CPU board for the Simplex 4009-9201 IDNet NAC power extender panel. It is the main processor card that controls the extender’s four notification appliance circuits and its IDNet communications.
The 4009-9201 IDNet NAC Extender provides extra notification circuit capacity for a Simplex 4007ES, 4010ES, 4100ES, or 4100U addressable fire alarm system. As a result, when the CPU board fails, the whole extender goes offline. Therefore, swapping in the 565-771 restores notification capacity without replacing the entire extender cabinet.
The CPU board manages four Class B (Style Y) NACs at 2 A each. In addition, it handles IDNet slave communications back to the host panel and supervises the extender’s internal power supply and battery charger.
What the Simplex 565-771 Board Does
The 565-771 board sits in the 4009-9201 cabinet. Specifically, it processes IDNet commands from the host fire alarm panel, drives the four on-board NACs, and reports status and trouble back over the IDNet channel. Furthermore, it manages the battery-charging and supervision logic for the cabinet’s standby batteries.
Key Features
- Drop-in replacement CPU board for the 4009-9201 IDNet NAC Power Extender
- Controls four Class B (Style Y) NACs at 2 A each, 24 VDC nominal
- Handles IDNet slave communications — one address per extender
- Supports up to 5 extenders per IDNet channel
- Manages internal battery charging (up to 12.7 Ah internal, 18 Ah external)
- Compatible with optional 4009-9807 (NAC), 4009-9808 (Class A), 4009-9809 (IDNet Repeater), 4009-9810/9811 (Fiber Optic) expansion cards
- Genuine Simplex part — not aftermarket
Compatibility
The 565-771 board fits the Simplex 4009-9201 IDNet NAC Power Extender cabinet. The host fire alarm panel must support the IDNet protocol — specifically Simplex 4007ES, 4010ES, 4100ES, and 4100U panels. This board is NOT a host fire alarm panel CPU and does NOT replace any 4100-series main panel board.
Installation Notes
- CPU board replacement should be performed by a certified Simplex / Johnson Controls technician
- Power down the extender before opening the cabinet
- Note the IDNet address jumper / DIP settings on the old board before removing it
- Re-program the device address into the new board to match the system map
- Verify all four NACs and the IDNet poll after swap by running a full panel test
