The Simplex 4098-9733 TrueAlarm heat sensor (p/n 067716) is a self-restoring analog addressable device using a small thermal mass element to accurately and quickly measure local ambient temperature for analysis at the fire alarm control panel. The 4098-9733 supports both fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise detection modes, each independently selectable at the control panel.
- Self-restoring rate-compensated heat sensor — no replacement after alarm
- Fixed temperature sensing: selectable at 135°F (57.2°C) or 155°F (68°C)
- Rate-of-rise detection: selectable at 15°F (8.3°C) or 20°F (11.1°C) per minute
- Fixed temperature and rate-of-rise modes operate independently
- Small thermal mass for fast, accurate temperature measurement
- TrueAlarm analog addressable communication via IDNet or MAPNET II
- Weight: 0.25 lb; Dimensions: 4 x 4 x 2 in
Compatible Panels: Simplex 2120, 4008, 4010, 4010ES, 4100, 4100ES, 4100U, and 4120 series control panels.
The 4098-9733 requires a compatible TrueAlarm sensor base. Rate-of-rise threshold and fixed temperature trip point are both programmed at the FACP — confirm panel firmware supports the desired configuration before deployment. For areas with normal ambient temperature fluctuation, the 15°F/min ROR setting reduces nuisance alarms.
