The STI EM1212DOC-BK is a black metal system-record documents box with a thumb lock. First, it stores fire alarm system documentation at the panel. Then, inspectors and techs find as-built drawings and zone lists where they need them. As a result, NFPA 72 documentation duties are easier to discharge.
STI EM1212DOC-BK construction
First, the box is built from heavy-duty steel with a baked-enamel finish. In addition, a continuous piano hinge supports the door across its full edge. Specifically, the unit measures 12.20 in. H x 12.70 in. W x 4.30 in. D. Also, the box weighs 7.62 lb.
Security and document handling
First, the thumb lock provides quick keyless access to authorized staff. Then, an internal metal flange holds documents, keys, and pens in place. Furthermore, the back design accommodates uneven wall or mounting surfaces. As a result, install is clean even on rough field walls.
Listings and use
First, the enclosure is a NEMA 1 rating. In addition, it is UL/cUL Listed, Type 1. Therefore, it is appropriate for indoor wall mounting next to the fire alarm panel. Note that the EM1212DOC-BK is the black-finish variant; the red-finish EM1212DOC is the same box in the standard fire-protection colour.
