The System Sensor M02-04-00 is a detector test magnet. Technicians use it to activate the magnetic test feature built into System Sensor smoke detectors. As a result, a detector can be functionally activated without smoke or aerosol spray.
Magnet testing is fast and clean. Hold the magnet at the detector’s marked test location, then watch for the alarm indication. Afterwards, reset the system from the panel. This makes the magnet a practical tool for routine NFPA 72 inspection and testing visits.
