The Vesda VP-BV is a 3/4″ two-way ball valve. It installs in VESDA aspirating smoke detection (ASD) sampling pipe networks. Technicians use it to isolate or balance airflow in specific pipe sections. Vesda by Xtralis supplies these valves in boxes of 10.
What the Vesda VP-BV does
An ASD system draws air through a network of sampling pipes. As a result, airflow must stay balanced across each branch. The VP-BV lets you open or close a pipe run by hand. Therefore, you can isolate a section without shutting down the whole network.
This control matters during commissioning. First, installers set airflow to the design target. Then, the two-way valve fine-tunes flow in each branch. In addition, the valve simplifies later maintenance and testing.
Typical applications
Contractors use the VP-BV in commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial ASD installations. Specifically, it suits multi-zone sampling networks that need branch isolation. Also, the 10-unit box supports larger projects and standardized inventory.
Verify pipe size and fit against your VESDA network design before installation. For questions, our team can confirm compatibility.
