The Wheelock EL4XHS-FR is a NEMA 4X / IP66 rated outdoor horn strobe. It comes from Eaton’s Eluxa weatherproof notification line. Specifically, this model joins a high-output horn with a clear-lens LED strobe. As a result, it provides audible and visual alerts in harsh settings. The red housing suits commercial fire alarm systems built to NFPA 72.
Heavy-Duty Weatherproofing
First, the NEMA 4X / IP66 enclosure resists corrosion, dust, and direct water jets. Therefore, it performs in washdown areas and coastal sites. In addition, the unit operates from -40°F to 150°F. The UV-stabilized engineered plastic also resists sun fading.
Signaling Performance
The strobe offers six field-selectable candela settings: 15, 30, 75, 110, 150, and 185 cd. Installers set candela on site, so one model fits many layouts. Furthermore, the LED strobe flashes for 20 ms, meeting NFPA 72 timing. The appliance runs on 24 VDC.
