The Simplex 4098-9613 is a rate-of-rise, fixed-temperature heat detector. It alarms at a fixed 135 deg F (57 deg C). First, it adds rate-of-rise sensing for a faster response. As a result, it reacts to both a set temperature and a rapid temperature climb.
Simplex 4098-9613 detection method
This detector uses a fast-response, thermistor-based design. Therefore, it senses heat electronically rather than mechanically. Also, the rate-of-rise function trips at roughly 15 to 25 deg F per minute. In addition, the unit is self-restoring. Consequently, it resets automatically once temperatures return to normal.
Specifications
- UL 521 listed heat detector
- Fixed alarm point: 135 deg F (57 deg C)
- Rate-of-rise trip: 15 to 25 deg F/min
- Operating voltage: 24 VDC (15 to 32 VDC range)
- Operating temperature: 32 deg F to 100 deg F (0 deg C to 38 deg C)
- Humidity: 10% to 95% RH
- LED alarm indicator; self-restoring
This detector mounts on compatible Simplex two-wire and four-wire bases. Furthermore, it suits areas where smoke detection is impractical. For example, mechanical rooms and similar spaces benefit from heat detection.
