The Edwards CS2598-5 is a replacement long armature for the Edwards 1504 electromagnetic door holder. Specifically, it fits the 1504-AQN5 flush wall-mounted door holder with long catch plate. As a result, a worn armature can be swapped without replacing the entire 1504 unit.
The long armature mates with the 1504 door holder’s electromagnet face. Therefore it provides the projecting contact surface that the magnet attracts. Furthermore, the swivel ball mount allows the armature to adjust to any door angle.
Edwards CS2598-5 Application
The 1504 door holder is used on self-closing fire doors. Specifically, it holds the door open in normal operation. Then, when de-energized by the fire alarm system, the door releases and the self-closer pulls it shut. As a result, the door confines smoke and flames during a fire event.

Application Notes
For the short-armature equivalent used with the 1501, 1502, 1505, 1508, or 1509 door holders, order the CS2595-5. Also, for additional projection beyond the standard armature, use the 1500-1 (1.5 in), 1500-2 (2.5 in), 1500-7 (5.25-7.5 in), or 1500-12 (7.5-12 in) extension assemblies. Furthermore, installation should follow local building codes and NFPA standards.
