The Ditek DTK-2MHLP12B is a 12 V hybrid, field-replaceable surge suppression module that protects two signal pairs on low-voltage voice, data, and signaling circuits. It is sold as a module only; it requires a separate Ditek Snap-Track base (such as the DTK-2MB) for mounting and wiring.
The DTK-2MHLP12B uses multi-stage SAD (silicon avalanche diode) hybrid technology. Therefore, it clamps fast transients at the gas-discharge front end and the SAD back end together, yielding low let-through voltage.
First, the module installs with a card-edge connector on the matching base. As a result, replacement is fast and hot-swappable — no need to re-terminate field wiring. In addition, the module covers two pairs (four conductors) per unit. Furthermore, multiple modules can share a common ground when mounted on a multi-position base, scaling protection up to 10 pairs.

Typical Applications
First, fire alarm SLC, IDC, and NAC loops at the panel. In addition, burglar alarm panel zone loops and 4–20 mA process loops. Also, access-control reader and door-position signaling. Furthermore, low-voltage 12 V powered or data circuits where a surge can take down the system.
Important Application Note
The DTK-2MHLP12B is the module only. A Snap-Track base (DTK-2MB, DTK-3MB, DTK-4MB, or DTK-5MB) is required for installation. If you need the module pre-paired with a hardwired base, order the DTK-2MHLP12BWB instead. Also, the 12 V module must match the loop voltage — do not apply a 12 V module to a 24 V loop or vice-versa.
