The Edwards SIGA-CR is an intelligent, addressable Control Relay Module. It belongs to the Edwards Signature Series family of analog-addressable devices. Specifically, it provides one Form “C” dry relay contact for switching external equipment.
The relay output controls auxiliary devices commonly tied to fire alarm sequences. For example, it can drive door holders, fan shutdown, damper actuators, and elevator recall relays. As a result, you get clean integration between the FACP and building systems.
How the Edwards SIGA-CR Works
Each SIGA-CR uses a single address on the Signature Series data loop. In addition, the module is electronically addressed — there are no DIP switches to set. The loop controller downloads the address during system commissioning.
On command from the loop controller, the on-board microprocessor activates the relay. As a result, the normally open and normally closed contacts switch state. The module itself reports its presence and faults to the panel. However, the relay contact state itself is not supervised — supervision of the controlled circuit is the system designer’s responsibility.
