The Farenhyt IDP-ISO is an addressable line isolator module for the signaling line circuit. It protects the SLC loop from short circuits. Specifically, it acts as an automatic switch on the loop. As a result, a fault in one section does not disable the whole loop.
Farenhyt IDP-ISO line isolator overview
The isolator opens when the SLC loop voltage drops below four volts. Therefore, it reacts automatically to a short on the line. Installers space isolators between groups of detectors or modules. In addition, this layout limits how far a single fault can spread.
When a short occurs between two isolators, both switch to an open state. As a result, they isolate only the affected devices between them. Then, the rest of the loop keeps communicating with the panel. Finally, normal operation returns once the short is cleared.
Compatibility
The IDP-ISO works with Farenhyt IDP addressable panels. For example, it supports the IFP-50, IFP-100/ECS, IFP-1000/ECS, and IFP-2000/ECS. Moreover, it connects over the two-wire SLC loop. This module is UL Listed for fire alarm use.
