The Protectowire HPC-2 is a single-piece spring clip used to attach Protectowire linear heat detector (LHD) cable to cable trays and similar overhead supports. It’s a basic, install-ready fastener — no assembly required.
First, the technician slides the HPC-2 onto the lip of the cable tray. Then the LHD cable seats into the clip’s spring groove. As a result, the detector is held in alignment along the tray run without compressing the cable’s inner insulation.
In addition, Protectowire requires that only approved fasteners be used on PHSC and EPC cable. Using unapproved hardware can damage the detector and cause false alarms.
