The Kidde EG1TW is a white Genesis trim plate for the Edwards/Kidde EG1 Series compact notification appliances. Specifically, it covers oversized box openings behind an EG1-mounted horn, strobe, or horn-strobe. As a result, the finished installation looks clean even when the rough-in box is larger than a standard single-gang.
First, the EG1TW snaps over a two-gang, 4-inch square, or 4-inch octagonal box. Then, the EG1 device mounts to the standard single-gang opening through the trim plate. Therefore, one part number covers four common rough-in scenarios.
In addition, the EG1TW also fits European 100 mm square boxes. Furthermore, it matches the texture and color of the white EG1 device face. As a result, retrofits over older box openings look intentional rather than improvised.
