The Kidde SD-T60 is a 60-inch air sampling tube for Kidde duct smoke detector housings. Specifically, it draws a sample of duct airflow into the detector’s sensing chamber. Therefore, it extends smoke detection into wide HVAC ductwork.
First, the sampling tube mounts across the air duct in the moving airstream. Then, inlet holes along its length collect air as it flows past. As a result, the duct detector can sense smoke carried in the HVAC supply or return air.
Where the Kidde SD-T60 Fits
The 60-inch length spans ducts up to 60 inches (5 ft) wide. In addition, the tube pairs with Kidde duct detector housings for early smoke detection. Furthermore, duct detection helps stop smoke from spreading through a building’s ventilation system. For narrower ducts, Kidde also offers a 42-inch tube, the SD-T42.
