The Mircom TX3-IP is an add-on IP module for TX3 systems. Specifically, it provides TCP/IP network connectivity through the included MD-921 IP board. As a result, TX3 sites can scale beyond the 63-device limit of an RS-485 bus. In addition, TCP/IP-connected devices act as Master Nodes on the network.
Mircom TX3-IP compatibility
First, the MD-921 board mounts onto the controller board of a host TX3 unit. Then, a ribbon cable connects to the correct ethernet add-on header for that product. Specifically, the TX3 Telephone Access System uses the P5 header. Also, the TX3 Elevator Restriction System uses the P3 header. Furthermore, the TX3 Card Access System uses the P4 header.
Installation reference
Therefore, before installation, confirm the host product and its controller board revision. In addition, Mircom publishes installation instructions under document LT-1161. Finally, the TX3-IP module is sold only as a compatible add-on, not a standalone product.
