The Notifier FS-OSI-RI is an intelligent reflective beam smoke detector for large open spaces. Specifically, it uses an infrared beam and a reflector pair to detect smoke obscuration across long distances. As a result, one detector covers areas that would otherwise need many spot detectors.
First, the detector is designed for high-ceiling facilities. Specifically, target installations include warehouses, aircraft hangars, atriums, and large manufacturing floors. In addition, the reflective design needs only a single-end power and signal connection.
Notifier FS-OSI-RI range and coverage
The beam path runs from 16 to 328 feet. In metric, that is 5 to 100 meters. Furthermore, the detector has a 12-degree wide field of view. As a result, alignment tolerance is forgiving compared to narrower beam systems.
Detector dimensions are 6 in. high, 10 in. wide, and 4.5 in. deep. Specifically, in metric that is 152.4 × 254 × 114.3 mm. In addition, the reflector measures 9.06 × 7.87 in. (230 × 200 mm).
Electrical specs
Operating voltage is 15 to 32 VDC nominal at 24 VDC. Specifically, standby current is 13 mA at 32 VDC and 14 mA at 24 VDC. In addition, standby current is 20 mA at 15 VDC.
Alarm current with the LED on is 22 mA at 32 VDC. Furthermore, alarm current is 15 mA at 24 VDC. Also, alarm current is 22 mA at 15 VDC.
