The Gamewell OSI-RI-GW is an intelligent addressable single-ended reflective imaging beam smoke detector. First, it protects large open areas with high ceilings where spot-type smokes are difficult to install and maintain. In addition, the detector is a combined transmitter and receiver in one housing. As a result, only one electrical connection is required at the device end of the protected space.
How the Gamewell OSI-RI-GW works
The unit operates on the light-obscuration principle using an infrared beam. Furthermore, the beam is aimed at a passive reflector mounted on the opposite wall. Then the reflected light returns to the imager and the device measures smoke obscuration across the path.
However, building movement and structural drift cause false alarms on traditional beam detectors. Therefore, the OSI-RI-GW receiver imager automatically tracks the reflector as the structure moves. Also, the sensitivity is selected and set automatically based on the size of the reflector in the field of view.
In addition, optical filtering, high-speed image acquisition, and intelligent software algorithms reject false alarms from sunlight, reflected sunlight, and other bright light sources.
Compatibility
The OSI-RI-GW is compatible with Gamewell-FCI 7075 Series, S3 Series, and E3 Series fire alarm control panels operating in Velociti mode. Therefore, the detector adds beam coverage to any of those addressable platforms.
