DSC (PG4872) Pg ceiling pir detector 433mhz

The DSC (PG4872) is a PowerG wireless 360° ceiling-mount PIR motion detector for intrusion/burglary systems. It operates on the 433 MHz PowerG band — the international variant, not the North American 915 MHz frequency.

The PG4872 is a security/intrusion sensor. Therefore, it pairs with PowerG-compatible intrusion panels — not with fire alarm panels.

First, the detector creates a 360° coverage pattern from the ceiling. In addition, it offers two operating modes — security detection (always armed) and presence detection (active 15 minutes after installation while the panel is disarmed). As a result, the device also supports temperature and light-level reports back to the panel.

Compatible Panels

The PG4872 works with PowerSeries Neo, PowerSeries Pro, and Qolsys panels that include a matching 433 MHz PowerG transceiver. Furthermore, confirm the panel’s PowerG frequency before ordering.

Important Frequency Note

The PG4872 is the **433 MHz** PowerG variant for international markets. For installations in **North America**, use the 915 MHz variant PG9872 instead. Also, mixing 433 MHz sensors with a 915 MHz panel will not link.

Important Application Note

The PG4872 is an intrusion motion detector. Therefore, do not install it on a fire alarm SLC or use it as a fire-system input. For fire detection, use a listed UL 268 smoke or UL 521 heat detector.
