The Potter RA-6500FR is the flush-mount variant of the RA-6500 remote annunciator. Specifically, it is a 160-character LCD annunciator built for the Potter PFC-6000 Series addressable panels. Furthermore, the red flush-mount enclosure trims neatly into finished walls in lobbies, security stations, and control rooms.
How the Potter RA-6500FR remote annunciator communicates
The unit connects to the PFC-6000 host panel over an RS-485 two-wire data link. As a result, one annunciator bus can mirror status across an entire building. In addition, up to thirty-one annunciators can share the bus in Class B wiring. Also, Class A wiring is supported when the optional Class A Expander is added at the panel. Therefore, system designers can choose the survivability level that suits the site. The maximum wire length on the annunciator bus is 6,500 feet.
Display, indicators, and addressing
The 4-line by 40-character backlit LCD shows panel events in plain language. In addition, dedicated LEDs report Power, Alarm, Supervisory, Trouble, and Silenced conditions. Local control keys handle Acknowledge, Silence, and Reset functions. Furthermore, each unit’s address is set on DIP switch S1 on the back of the module. Valid addresses run from 1 through 31.
Mounting and power
The RA-6500FR mounts flush into the wall using its companion trim ring. Standby current is 20 mA at 24 VDC. Alarm current is 25 mA at 24 VDC. The operating temperature range is 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C). Also, the humidity rating is 10% to 93% non-condensing at 86°F.
