The Silent Knight SD500-LIM line isolator module protects the SLC loop on Silent Knight addressable panels. It acts as an automatic switch that opens when a wiring fault shorts the loop. As a result, only the shorted segment drops out — every other device keeps operating.
The panel still sees the event. Specifically, the fault reports as a trouble condition while protected devices stay online. The module works on Style 7 (Class A) and Style 4 (Class B) SLC wiring. In addition, a loop supports up to 127 isolator devices (SD500-LIM or SD505-6IB).

Install isolators at segment boundaries you want protected. Then a short at any point only isolates the devices between isolators.
