Edwards (SIGA-OSHDB) Edwards intelligent multi-criteria optical smoke and heat detector, black

The Edwards SIGA-OSHDB is the black-finish variant of the Signature Optica Series SIGA-OSHD intelligent multi-criteria smoke and heat detector. Functionally and electrically, the SIGA-OSHDB matches the standard white SIGA-OSHD. Therefore, it combines optical smoke sensing with rate-of-rise heat sensing for smoldering and fast-flaming fire detection.

Edwards SIGA-OSHDB — when to specify the black-finish variant

Choose the SIGA-OSHDB for ceiling installations where a black finish blends with the architectural environment. For example, exposed structural ceilings, black-painted ceilings, theaters, dark interiors, and museum spaces. In addition, the SIGA-OSHDB pairs with the SIGA-TSB Trim Skirt (black) for a fully black-finish appearance. For standard white installations, specify the SIGA-OSHD instead.

Dual-sensor multi-criteria detection

First, the optical smoke sensor uses dual optical wavelengths combined with multiple detection angles. Then particle data passes through digital filter ratios that reject signal patterns typical of cooking nuisance sources. Furthermore, the on-board rate-of-rise heat sensor adds a 15°F/min (9°C/min) function plus a 135°F (57.2°C) fixed-temperature threshold.

Intelligent features (same as SIGA-OSHD)

Smoke sensitivity range: 0.5 to 4.36 %/ft (1.6 to 13.6 %/m) obscuration. Five sensitivity settings with automatic day/night adjustment. Also, twenty pre-alarm settings, two levels of environmental compensation, and two levels of dirty-detector warning. In addition, automatic device mapping and self-diagnostics with history log in non-volatile memory.

Electrical and environmental

Operating voltage: 15.20 to 19.95 VDC from the Signature loop. Normal operating current: 32 µA. Alarm current: 45 µA. Operating environment: 32 to 100°F (0 to 38°C), 0 to 93% RH non-condensing.

CAN/ULC-S529, CAN/ULC-S530, UL 268-7, UL 268A, UL 521. Compatible only with control panels using a Signature Loop Controller. Compatible bases: SIGA-SB, SIGA-SB4, SIGA-RB, SIGA-RB4, SIGA-IB, SIGA-IB4. Furthermore, pair with the SIGA-TSB black trim skirt for full black-finish appearance.
