The Simplex 4098-9794 is an analog sensor sounder base designed for use with Simplex TrueAlarm analog addressable smoke sensors. Unlike standard detector bases that only provide mounting and electrical connection, the 4098-9794 integrates a built-in sounder that the fire alarm control panel can activate independently — providing a local audible alert at the detector location without requiring a separate notification appliance to be wired nearby.
This combination of sensor base and sounder is particularly valuable in healthcare occupancies, hotel corridors, and residential facilities where distributed local alarms improve occupant notification response time. The sounder activates over the Simplex addressable loop on command from the FACP.
