The Kidde GSA-MCT2 is a dual input plug-in module for the Signature addressable loop. First, it monitors one or two normally-open dry-contact initiating device circuits. Then, the loop controller reports each input as an addressable point.
In addition, the module plugs into a UIO (Universal Input/Output) mounting base. As a result, wiring lives on the motherboard, not the module itself.
How the Kidde GSA-MCT2 Works
The GSA-MCT2 reads analog data from its IDC inputs. Then, its on-board microprocessor decides whether the signal is an alarm, trouble, or normal. Finally, the result is reported to the Signature loop controller.
Furthermore, the module’s function is set by a “personality code”. Specifically, the installer downloads the code from the loop controller during commissioning. As a result, the same module can serve as alarm, supervisory, or monitor input depending on configuration.
Typical Applications
- HVAC duct detector relay tie-in
- Elevator recall input from a remote contact
- Fire door magnetic-hold drop signaling
- Auxiliary supervisory point monitoring
- Waterflow or tamper switch tie-in (dry contact)
