The Potter Electric Signal PAD100-MIM is a micro-sized addressable input module. It monitors initiating devices that contain a normally open set of dry contacts. Typically, installers place it inside an electrical box or behind a pull station.
The PAD100-MIM converts a non-addressable dry-contact input into an individually addressable point on the SLC loop. As a result, the panel can identify the exact device that activated. In addition, the module’s compact form fits behind devices where a full-size module will not.
How the Potter Electric Signal PAD100-MIM works
First, the module connects to the panel’s Signaling Line Circuit (SLC). Then a dry-contact input from the monitored device wires to the IDC terminals. A Class B input circuit with a 5.1K EOL resistor completes the loop. Furthermore, each module gets its own address via a 7-position DIP switch, with a range of 1 through 127.
Compatible panels
The PAD100-MIM works with Potter IPA series and Potter AFC/ARC series addressable fire alarm control panels. Specifically, it shares the same PAD addressable protocol used across Potter’s PAD100 and PAD300 device lines.
