Protectowire (SG-GR) Replacement Pull Station Break Rods, Pack of 12

The Protectowire (SG-GR) replacement break rods are scored acrylic rods used in Protectowire SG and SGX series manual fire alarm pull stations. Specifically, they ship in a pack of 12 so technicians can restock several pull stations from a single order.

In addition, the break rod is the part that snaps when a pull station is activated. Therefore, after each test or activation, the broken rod must be replaced to return the station to service.

How Protectowire (SG-GR) Break Rods Work

First, the rod sits across the activation mechanism inside an SG/SGX series pull station. Then, when the lever is pulled, the rod breaks at its scored notch. As a result, the broken rod creates a clear visual indicator that the station has been activated.

Furthermore, the rod must be replaced for the station to reset cleanly. Therefore, keeping a pack of SG-GR rods on hand is standard practice for maintenance of Protectowire SG/SGX installations.

Compatible Pull Stations

The SG-GR rods are designed for Protectowire SG and SGX series die-cast manual pull stations. Examples include:

• Protectowire SG-32 series (single- and dual-action variants)
• Protectowire SG-42 series (single- and dual-action variants)
• Protectowire SGX-32 series (explosion-proof models)

However, the SG-GR is not interchangeable with break rods for other pull station brands. Specifically, SigCom pull stations use a different rod — typically the SigCom SG-GR01. Always verify the pull station family before ordering.
