The Siemens IIC Interface Isolation Card provides electrical isolation between segments of a FireFinder XLS panel network. As a result, a fault on one side cannot propagate across the card cage.
First, the IIC mounts in the Model CC-2 card cage of FireFinder XLS panels. Then, it terminates one end of the CAN communications bus on each side of that card cage. Furthermore, it isolates the internal networks from each other for fault containment.
Where the Siemens IIC fits
The IIC is an in-panel network accessory, not a field-device interface module. Specifically, it sits inside the FACP and supports the panel’s internal CAN topology.
